The Big Five

Day 11

~ by Sally Stuart ~

One of the highlights of this year’s trip to Rwanda was having an amazing group of five men on our team. We all love the traditional Big Five of Africa – rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo and leopards, but the people of Rwanda absolutely loved our Big Five – Mike, Eric, Rick, Win and Joel. It was a powerful statement to the men, women and children of Love With Actions and Shalom that these men showed up, took an interest in them, stepped into their homes, encouraged them, prayed with them and showed the love of Jesus to them. They were also wise, patient and very funny! There were things they were uniquely able to do, such as meeting with the fathers of disabled children at Love With Action, and each one of them made a huge difference in the life and health of our team and the impact of our ministry in Rwanda. So hats off to our favorite Big Five in Africa!
