This morning six of us, Mike, Tom, Win, Renata, Jill and I went back to Francoise’s home to continue with the remodel of her home that we started on Tuesday that week. The workers there had completed putting a coat of concrete on the inside walls of the house and were now working on the outside walls of the house. We were instructed to bring sand and rocks from a road below the house up to the construction site. They sand is mixed by hand with Portland cement and water for the walls and floor of the home. The rocks were anywhere from fist sized to larger rocks weighing 30 to 60 lbs like the ones shown below that Tom is carrying.
Also joining us was Gilbert and his videographer who had been taking still pictures and video this week. He interviewed both Jill and myself.
One of the fun things that happened while we were bringing up the sand and rocks from the road below the house was that a motorcycle rode by with a young bridal couple on the back of the motorcycle. The bride was dressed in a beautiful white dress. The groom was dressed in a very nice black tux and white shirt. Both had big smiles on their faces. We had to step out of the way to let them trough. I wanted to take a picture but didn’t have time to get my phone out. I also didn’t want to hold them up. I don’t know if they were on the way to get married or had just left the wedding ceremony. One thing I do know is that they were very happy. One thing we have discovered is that there are wonderful surprizes around every corner in this beautiful country.

Picture showing the existing kitchen before the coming improvements. Large rocks will be placed in the back corner to create a stove to cook on. The rocks will be held together by concrete.
