Day 3 (Tuesday) – Nduba Center

~by Kath Stone~

For our second full day of Love with Actions activities Jill, Renata, Sally and I went to he new Nduba LWA center. This is the newly purchased building you heard about yesterday. The rooms are much bigger and brighter. You can see the excitement on the faces of the moms and staff.

There are 7 staff at this center. It reminds me of the small start at the Bumbogo site 8 years ago. God has grown and blessed that center in a mind-blowing way. We know God has great things in store for this site as well.

We jumped right in to engage in physical and occupational therapy sessions. In the first picture you see Kenny giving me a big hug. I first met him 3 1/2 years ago. He is a person living with Down syndrome. Through therapy and better nutrition he is now able to attend a preschool. It blessed my heart to see how LWA has improved the quality of life for Kenny and his family.

This picture features Jill and little Joanna enjoying each other’s company. Lots of fun activities are happening to continue to develop the children’s fine motor skills. The video shows Renata playing Koosh ball with Lilliane, a delightful little girl with spina bifida. Since coming to LWA Lilianne’s vibrant personality has really started to shinel She is also now attending a preschool.

Many of the children are seriously malnourished when they first arrive at Love With Actions. Now each day when they come for therapy a meal is provided with porridge, an egg, a banana and other fresh fruit.

Your donations to Love With Actions are improving the lives of so many children. The mottoe of LWA is “Disability is not Inability.” We truly saw that in action today.
