The trip was a long one! After a full night of sleep we gathered together at a wonderful breakfast and a beautiful heart in my coffee. (see picture). Our group went to the Salvation Army Church service. Driving there was an adventure with all the traffic and many motorcycles all over the road. One has to be very patient, careful and brave driving these roads. We arrived safely to a very lively service. I think they were dancing while waiting for our arrival. I had no idea what to expect of the church or the service. I guess I truly don’t know the purpose of The Salvation Army and still need to do a little research on their mission. We walked in and it was different to have all eyes on you. The leaders of the church were very friendly and introduced all the local visitors first and then asked Gilbert to bring us up to be introduced on stage. It was a meaningful service and we were able to have translation into english which really helped. I took the time during the service to watch mostly the kids and how they interacted in the service. Sorry that caused me to not get the full scripture/sermon. Being in a new place and seeing new things really took over. The rain started to come down very heavy as we were leaving. While we waited for the bus to pull up all the children came up to us and shook our hands. They were so sweet and had such big smiles on their faces. It was a great experience. I did feel a little “on display” as visitors and will keep that in mind when visitors come to our church. I am grateful for this experience and am looking forward to what the next few days have in store for us1
