Afternoon Day 4
~ by Mike Ribelin ~
Our visit to the home of Bella and her grandmother Dativa started with a big smile on grandma’s face when she opened the door of her modest home. (A gathering of neighborhood children and moms waited outside for us to come out) Dativa told us the story of how Bella was left on her doorstep when she was a small baby. She is doing her best at raising Bella, now with the help of Love With Actions. Since being accepted into LWA she has gained head control and has gained more than eight pounds. She is no longer considered malnourished.
Grandma Dativa beams when describing the progress Bella has made. She has developed a special bond with the one other grandmother at LWA. She was very appreciative of the special gifts of the scarf, solar light and mattress she received as a Christmas gift from LWA. (The first mattress she has ever owned) I felt God calling me to kneel in front of her to ask how we could pray for her. One of her prayer requests was for her to be able to live long enough to care for Bella. She wanted us to know how LWA has helped Bella in show many ways.
We moved outside to have a group picture. Dativa was overjoyed with us being there. We said our goodbyes and as hugs as the neighbors looked on. The visit tugged on my heart.

The stories from these families that you are getting to see are heart wrenching and moving. What a blessing to see how you are blessing this family and so many others. God’s love is alive and at work.
I will say a prayer for them and be safe
